It has been an honor to have served our community as a member of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Board of Education over these past three years.  I am proud of my contributions in helping to improve our districts fiscal footing, control our expenditures, increase strategic investments in technology and support new initiatives to raise our students academic achievement.  As a board of education member I have gotten a great deal of personal satisfaction from our many district successes and am determined to continue to help strengthen areas where we could and should do better.

These are some of our successes:

• In the past three years, 2008-2010 our district has adopted the lowest budget-to-budget increases in almost twenty years, 4.9%, 2.1%, 2.3%. The lowest levy-to-levy increases in almost twenty years, 4.5%, 2.2%, 2.9%, all while maintaining educational programs and class sizes.
• Seizing opportunity to refinance existing debt at a lower rate giving our district a savings of $1.2 million over the next twelve years.

• Re-negotiating with vendors for more favorable rates providing significant savings.
• Prioritizing cost savings at all district levels keeping most departmental budgets flat.
• Instituting of new Math program K-8, curriculum and textbooks.

• Implementing of Infinite Campus student management system to help analyze student achievement and facilitate communication with parents.
• Strategic investment in Instructional Technology, interactive white boards..etc.
