Strong Leadership in Tough Times On Academics: I am very proud that our community is so very curriculum focused. Our students and parents have much to be grateful for. This does not mean that everything works perfectly or that there is no room for improvement. Our academic board goals over the past three years have been ambitious and forward thinking. Ø Implementation of new Envisions Math program K-8, curriculum and textbooks. Ø New Science curriculum and textbooks K-4 Ø Middle schools, raising bar in literacy through Socratic method – Great Books. Ø New High School texts for Geometry, Algebra II and Trigonometry. Ø New software tools to support literacy effort, System 44, Read 180, Fundations. Ø Continued support of Special Education Summer Program. I am proud of the strategic investments we have made in instructional technology as well as our student management system. The instructional technology provides our faculty with advanced tools to help our students learn. These tools are not intended to replace but enhance instruction. Ø Implementation of Infinite Campus student management system to help analyze student achievement and facilitate communication with parents. Ø Strategic investment in Instructional Technology, interactive white boards, ceiling mounted projectors, audio support devices, wireless Netbook learning center carts for middle schools, mobile visual presentation systems for elementary schools.

Re-Elect Angel Cepeda Lever #2A
Strategic investment in a student management system will help us to analyze the progress of our students, raise the level of communication between all stakeholders and assist in planning. I agree that as a school district we should be data aware and not data driven.
